1. I can't log in and need to reset my password.
Note: if you no longer have access to or forgot which email address you use to log in to Facebook, please refer to section #3 in this email.
• First, try resetting your password by filling out the requested information on http://www.facebook.com/reset.php . Once you have done this, check your email account for a password reset email. Try resetting your password using the link provided in this email.
• If you did not receive the password reset email, please try waiting 24 hours for it to arrive. Check your email account's spam and junk filters to make sure it wasn't accidentally delivered there.
• If the link in your password reset email is not working, try copying and pasting the full URL (web address) of the link that you received into your browser.
• If you are prompted to reset your password every time you log in, your problem may be related to your web browser. To clear your browser's cache and cookies, follow the instructions listed here: http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=742
• If you continue to have login and password problems, try to log in with a different web browser. Follow the instructions for upgrading your browser that are listed here: http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=742
• If none of these steps resolve your problem, you may want to consider going through the sign up process to create a new Facebook account. If you don't already have an alternative email address to use, remember that email addresses are offered for free by many websites (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo!, etc.). We apologize for any inconvenience.
2. I'm receiving error messages when I try to log in to Facebook.
• "Incorrect Password" error: Make sure that your caps lock key is turned off, then try to log in again. If this does not work, please follow the steps to reset your password that are listed in section #1 of this email.
• "Incorrect Email" error: Please refer to the steps outlined in section #3 of this email.
• "Invalid Link" error: Copy and paste the full link from the email you received into your web browser's address bar and hit enter. If this did not work, wait 24 hours, then request a new password.
• "Invalid Code" error: Copy and paste the full link from the email you received into your web browser's address bar and hit enter. If this did not work, wait 24 hours, then request a new password.
3. I lost access to or forgot which email address I use to log in to Facebook.
• Try logging in with any other email addresses that you own. If an email address that you can still access is associated with an account, but you forgot your Facebook password, request that a new password be sent to this email address.
• If you registered a username, try logging in using your username and password. A username is your personalized Facebook URL (web address) and appears in the location bar of your browser after "http://www.facebook.com/" when you view your profile. After logging in, visit the Settings tab on the Account page to locate the email address you use to log in.
• You can ask one of your Facebook friends to view your profile and send you the email address listed on your account. To do this, ask your friend to click on the "Info" tab on your Profile page and scroll down to "Contact Information." Once you receive this information, try logging in with that email address.
• If this doesn't solve your problem, you may want to consider going through the sign up process to create a new Facebook account. If you don't already have an alternative email address to use, remember that email addresses are offered for free by many websites (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo!, etc.). We apologize for any inconvenience.
4. I registered with my mobile number and now I can't log in.
• You can log in on your computer or your phone by using the phone number and password you created during the sign up process. Try logging in using the phone number and password you signed up with. Enter your entire number, including country code, without any zeros, plus signs, or other special characters.
• If you still cannot log in, this is likely a problem related to your web browser. Follow the instructions for clearing cache and cookies and upgrading your browser listed here: http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=742 (computer browser) or http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=1066 (mobile browser).
• If you are still unable to log in, or you forgot your password, try resetting your password through Mobile. You can do this by going to m.facebook.com on your mobile device's web browser and clicking the "Forgot password?" link. Enter the phone number you signed up with and complete the instructions that follow.
